About me
I am the son of Danish Pia Wilm and German Gero Wilm. I grew up in the Danish minority with its kindergartens, schools and youth clubs on the German side of the German-Danish border. Until age 18 I lived in the village of Schuby (pop: 2400) in which my parents still reside.

In high school, just after I moved to the town of Flensburg, I discovered socialist ideas as an alternative to the nationalist ideologies many of those around me believed in. And around the time of the Kosovo war spring 1999, I turned into an activist with the German socialist party Party of Democratic Socialism (PDS). I ran for the Schleswig-Holstein state assembly in early 2000, as the youngest of all candidates. After graduating, I moved to Oslo, Norway in order to avoid the draft of both Germany and Denmark. I have been an activist in Norway since, leading and participating in various rather controversial actions as well as helping bigger organizations with their computer issues/web pages. For a year I sat in the student parliament of the University of Oslo (UiO), leasing the group of the Left Alliance 2005-6. It was a bitter experience in just how corrupt/bureaucratic even small scale politics are, and it has strengthened my believe in doing politics using alternative means.
In 2005, I earned my MPhil in Social Anthropology from the UiO about life in the US-Mexican border town of Douglas, AZ, about which I since have published a book. I have been back several times, and usually blog about it. In general, I have traveled a lot throughout Europe, the US, Mexico and Central America, trying to take part in and/or document whatever revolutionary movements I stumble across.
Starting April 2008 I have been living in Nicaragua, conducting fieldwork as part of an Social Anthropology MPhil/PhD program at Goldsmiths College, University of London and I plan on staying for a year in total.
